In one of my earlier posts on essential foods to protect against breast cancer, one of my regular readers, Farisha, asked for a rich marinara recipe. Get ready to gobble up your new family favourite, spaghetti marinara, and fight cancer away.
Ingredients:
1 medium onion
2 cloves garlic
1 green bell pepper
1 can diced tomatoes

Directions:
1. Peel and chop onion to measure 1/2 cup.
2. Peel and finely chop garlic.
3. But bell pepper in half lenghtwise and remove seeds.
4. In a large saucepan, heat the oil over medium heat for 1-2 minutes.
5. Add onion, garlic and bell pepper and cook for 2 minutes, stirring occasionally.
6. Add tomatoes, tomato sauce, basil, oregano, salt and pepper. Once mixture begins to boil, reduce heat so mixture bubbles gently.
7. Cover with lid and cook for 10 minutes.
8. Add spaghetti to 3 cups of boiling water and cook for 7 minutes.
9. Place strainer in the sink and pour spaghetti in the strainer to drain.
10. Serve with tomato sauce.
